Great Programs Kick off 2018!
The Alliance continues its very popular monthly public program series, “We Are Sauk Prairie,” in 2018, thanks in part to a generous grant from Alliant Energy Foundation. January and February programs will be at the Ruth Culver Library, 540 Water Street, Prairie du Sac, starting at 6:30pm. Here’s a quick synopsis:
Thursday, January 18: “The River that Flows Uphill: Geologic Evolution of the Lower Wisconsin River” by Dr. Eric Carson, Wisconsin Geological and Natural History Survey & UW-Extension.
Thursday, February 15: “Maa Wakacak, Sacred Earth (former Badger Army Ammunitions Plant): The Return, the Healing, the Future” by Jon Greendeer (Mąąšųsga), Executive Director of Heritage Preservation for the Ho-Chunk Nation.
Thursday, March 15: ALLIANCE ANNUAL MEETING & 20th Anniversary Party!
(Venue to be announced). This year marks our 20th anniversary, and it’s time for a party! The Alliance will showcase two special projects, a 20-year retrospective video we have been working on, and the new “Badger App” that interprets cultural and natural history at Badger. Details to follow.
