Bobolinks! Meadowlarks! Clay-colored Sparrows! Bells’ Vireo! One of the very best places to see grassland and shrubland birds is at Badger. The Alliance is planning a BIRDS of BADGER field trip on SUNDAY, May 20th, guided by MIKE MOSSMAN, retired DNR ornithologist. Mike has undertaken breeding bird surveys at Badger since 1997… nobody knows Badger birds better than Mike!
WHEN: Sunday May 20, 7am to 10:30am
WHERE: Meet at 6:45am at the main entrance to the old Badger Plant on Highway 12 between Sauk City and Baraboo, across from the Citgo Station.
WHAT: This is a bus tour limited to 30 people and you need to RSVP in advance. There is no guarantee that you can get on the bus if you just show up but don’t have a reservation.
COST: $10/member, $20/non-member. Kids under 14 are free. Pay upon arrival. We’ll provide modest snacks on the bus.
