Dr. Curt Meine, Senior Fellow at the Aldo Leopold Foundation and founding member of the Sauk Prairie Conservation Alliance, will present the third monthly program in the Alliance’s fall-winter series, “We Are Sauk Prairie.”

More than 175 apple tree have been located on the lands of the former Badger Army Ammunition Plant, many of them predating the construction of the plant in 1942.  Curt will provide an update on what we have learned about these trees and discuss next steps in working with the Badger landowners to conserve them.

This public program is being held  in the community room of the Ruth Culver Library in Prairie du Sac (540 N. Main Street) on Thursday, November 17th.  Refreshments will be available at 6:30, and the program begins at 6:45pm.

The “We Are Sauk Prairie” series is supported by a grant from Alliant Energy Foundation.  For a complete schedule of the monthly series of presentations and tours, click here.
