Geologic History of the Sauk Prairie Recreation Area

Join us on an afternoon tour of the former Badger Army Plant, and in particular the state-managed property, Sauk Prairie Recreation Area, for a look at the unique geologic features of this newest state recreation area.  Our talented leader is Philip Fauble, a hydrogeologist with theWisconsin DNR

Come learn about the long and varied geologic history of the Sauk Prairie Recreation Area, from the origins of the 1.7 billion year-old Baraboo Quartzite, to the glacial features of the Johnstown Moraine and everything in between.
