Join us on Thursday, December 14th, for a special event– a conversation with four key participants in the early Alliance efforts to promote a green future for the former Badger Army Ammunition Plant.
“Looking Back, Looking Forward: Twenty Years of Community and Conservation on the Badger Landscape”
What: panel discussion by Curt Meine, Mike Mossman, Gail Lamberty & Mike Degen
Where & When: Ruth Culver Library (540 Water Street, Prairie du Sac), 6:30pm. Free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.
Twenty years ago the Sauk Prairie community began to define and advance a shared vision for the future of the former Badger Army Ammunition Plant. At Badger we faced an uncertain future, complicated political realities, and competing needs, interests and priorities. Forging a common vision would not be easy and the reuse of Badger remains a work in progress. But by working together, listening and remaining committed to a broad, inclusive perspective, our community of individuals and organizations overcame the obstacles to consensus, and secured a future for Badger with conservation at its heart. Join four long-time Alliance members and veterans of the Badger reuse story—Mike Mossman, Mike Degen, Gail Lamberty and Curt Meine—as we take a look backward and forward across the Badger landscape. This panel conversation occurs just three days before our actual 20th Anniversary!
Stick around for a SPECIAL TREAT following the program!
