Join our Alliance volunteers for a morning outdoors, helping restore an oak savanna on the Sauk Prairie Recreation Area, located on the former Badger Army Ammunition Plant near Sauk City. This volunteer work day will focus on clearing and removing undesirable brush from under a grove of mature oaks.
Meet at the entrance gate to the old Badger Plant (across from the Citgo station on Highway 12) just before 9am to carpool to the work site. Wear long pants, a long-sleaved shirt or jacket, work gloves and hiking or work boots (as we’ll be working on a slope). You’ll probably want to layer your clothing, depending on the weather.
The Alliance will provide water and snacks. Note: there are no bathroom facilities at the property (but there’s plenty of nature!)
