Join us on May 21 for our final “We Are Sauk Prairie” lecture series program of the season, “Habitat Management at the Sauk Prairie State Recreation Area” by Nancy Frost, Wildlife Biologist, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
When: Thursday, May 21, 6:30pm
Where: Ruth Culver Community Library, 540 Water Street, Prairie du Sac
Summary: What is happening with habitat management at the state portion of Badger—the Sauk Prairie State Recreation Area since the approved Master Plan (2016)? This talk will cover the habitat management and restoration goals for the property, what has been accomplished on the 3,400-acre property since the state acquired this land, and plans and hopes for the future. Nancy will also discuss the new collaborative effort among landowners, the “Prairie Corridor” being planned along the Great Sauk State Trail through the Badger Lands.
Our monthly program series is sponsored with a grant through Alliant Energy Foundation. The programs are free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
